On a cold Christmas Eve, we were asked by the BBC to film a local ex soldier and amputee Mark Ormrod as he attempted a world record attempt in Plymouth Sound.
Arriving at 6:50, we started to set up with the mobile broadcasting equipment. Unfortunately, there were a few technical issues that prevented us from filming live on the first broadcast. We instead used the Mavic 2 to film Mark’s start and capture pre recorded material for the BBC to use on future headlines.
After aerialfilming with the Mavic 2, we finally got the live broadcasting equipment working. This was in time to film the successful ending of the world record attempt which was shown live on BBC Breakfast.
Overall, a successful broadcast. It was great that the team helped problem solved the equipment so we could make the second live hit.
